Unlimited Hosting: Cheap Storage for Websites

Over the years we have seen disk storage increase dramatically, and today unlimited hosting plans are the norm.

There has been some controversy surrounding unlimited hosting plans, but as long as used for the intended purpose, and you’re not trying to backup your Star Wars movie collection online there should be no issue.

Today Web hosting companies market 100 GB or unlimited storage with their cheap $4.99 hosting plan. That is a dramatic decrease in the market price for hosting disk storage over the last 10 years.

The difference today, when put in perspective is that customers are actually increasing their usage of this storage dramatically. With the digital revolution (audio, video, and images), and the increasing size of databases, we are entering a period where unlimited hosting is in large demand.

The good news is that additional storage options are becoming increasingly popular and more affordable. With the increasing availability of larger server grade hard drives, Network Attached Storage, SAN storage, we’re able meet storage needs for today as well as tomorrow.

I think it is clear – the need for website hosting with large storage will continue to increase exponentially – and we as hosting providers should be able to satisfy that need with a suite of affordable options.
